Get Them Talking, Get Them Learning

Get Them Talking, Get Them Learning is designed to help children to engage in talk and exploration of language. It describes many different language-rich experiences that not only increase the number of things they have to talk about but also gives them the language to describe these things. It outlines a host of imaginative ways of creating opportunities for different types of talk to occur as well as many practical ideas.

Alistair Bryce-Clegg has spent his career as a teacher, head teacher and early years consultant. He has worked alongside educators in a diverse range of settings to develop approaches to planning and teaching that really engage children in the learning process.

Kay is currently an Honorary Associate Professor in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education. She has a strong background in early childhood development, learning and teaching both as a practitioner and as an academic. Her main areas of research are transition and adjustment to school, accompanied by a strong record of publications. Kay is regularly engaged in knowledge exchange activities with the education sector including teachers, educators and parents.
