Creating Solutions: Supporting the SENCO

This resource offers a deeper understanding of the Special Education Needs Coordinators (SENCO's) role and possible opportunities. It looks in detail at how to work effectively with all key parties: management, classroom teachers, teacher aides and external agencies, as well as the special needs students themselves and their families and peers. The focus at all times is on practical ways in which the SENCO can fulfil their critical role, with the backing of surrounding colleagues, so that each special needs student receives the support they require to achieve and progress to the best of their ability.
