Measurement Resources for Primary Schools

In mathematics, measurement is the concept of comparing one thing to another based on a whole range of qualities such as area, height, length, weight and so on. Students learn how to measure different things such size, time, volume etc. The application of these skills and the rules that apply become increasingly complex as learning progresses.

There are units on measurement across the range of Essential Resources mathematics books at primary level. Some focus particularly on measurement, such as Hooked on Measurement and Hooked on Mathematics and No Nonsense Measurement. Measurement skills and tasks are also found in other series such as Solving Real-world Maths Problems, Maths in the Inclusive Classroom, Maths Problems and Investigations and Maths in the Inclusive Classroom.
